Mr. Tiburcio Chica,  a farmer from Quezon Province in the Philippines,  was walking home with his wife along a rough path, at dusk when he tripped and fell headlong into a shallow ditch.  His fall caused a C5 cervical cord injury.  He is a patient in the Philippine Orthopedic Center Spine Ward in Manila.

Our board member Mr. Tani took two wheelchairs with him on his visit to Thailand.  We are thankful that Sumipex, Thailand.

Thanks to Pastor Oyama from The Biblical Church and Riko Kindergarden, Wheelchairs of Hope volunteers were able to share about the work we do.  It was a very satisfying time.

Mr. Horie, a board member, spearheaded the celebration and emceed the event.

Mr. Majima, a silver medalist at the Vancouver Paralympics two years ago, was the featured speaker.

His was an amazing story, and we found ourselves cheering, and also wiping tears from our eyes, during his presentation.
