A: Right now we only accept wheelchairs from within Japan.
Q: Why are wheelchairs only distributed within Asia?
A: The main reason is that a narrower scope allows us to follow up well and stay in touch with overseas partners who distribute the chairs. It is also true that Asian-made wheelchairs tend to fit Asians best. Additionally, metric tools are widespread in Asia, therefore non-metric wheelchairs are extremely difficult for recipients to maintain.
Q: Who receives the refurbished wheelchairs?
A: Wheelchairs of Hope distributes wheelchairs through reputable organizations in the destination countries. Chairs are distributed as a free gift. Anyone who is financially unable to buy a wheelchair is eligible.
