We have received 340,000 yen (about US$4,300) from the International Ladies Benevolent Society.
International Ladies Benevolent Society is a welfare group that was started in 1953 by ambassadors’ wives and politicians’ wives who were living in Japan. Whether it is in country or outside of Japan, they help social welfare and social action programs.
They noticed the Wheelchairs of Hopes work in gathering and repairing used wheelchairs here in Japan and then sending them out to Asian countries.
The donation we have received has been used for tires to refurbish the wheelchairs and for air pumps that we give along with the wheelchairs.
