Tin Aye Ko's wife

Tin Aye Ko's wife is pregnant and they live in Myanmar.  Because of polio, she is unable to walk.  Tin Aye Ko is deaf and is an instructor for translators, working on a project to put sign language translation on national television in Mynamar.  The wheelchair was taken to Yangon by volunteers, Ms. Noriko Uwabe and Ms. Kuniko Nagai.  It was gifted to Tin Aye Ko in March of this year, 2013.

Mrs. Jamniaen Kunasang of Thakhlong

Mrs. Jamniaen Kunasang of ThakhlongMrs. Jamniaen Kunasang of Thakhlong, Thailand is 69 years old.  She received a wheelchair from Wheelchairs of Hope on February 5th, 2013, through Ms. Charlermkjat Wjwattanakul. The wheelchair was sent from Japan first to Mr. and Mrs. Morimoto, missionaries in Thailand. They've been working with Wheelchairs of Hope for many years, distributing over 40 wheelchairs throughout Thailand for those in need of mobility. The wheelchair was hand delivered by Ms. Charlermkjat. Ms. Jamniaen says of the wheelchair, "Before I got this wheelchair, I had to use a walker. I am very poor and needed a wheelchair but could not afford one.  Bless the staff who provided this for me. I wish them happiness and prosperity!"

Nga in Thailand

Sopha Shab-pimai's mother, Nga in ThailandThis is a picture of Sopha Shab-pimai's mother, Nga in Thailand.  She has had a back spine operation and isn't able to walk very well, with much pain.  How ever, with the wheelchair that she received through her daughter who works for Sumipex in Thailand, she has been smiling and been able to go outside.  Wheelchairs of Hope donated several wheelchairs to Sumipex, which in turn gifted the wheelchairs to it's employees whose families have great needs.

Uzbekistan - Mr. Tohir

This report just in from Uzbekistan:

The tragic accident occurred 6 months ago when Mr. Tohir was asleep in the back seat of a taxi during the night.  The small and light-weight taxi was crushed completely, but amongst the three passengers sitting in the back, Mr. Tohir alone was severely injured.  His spine was fractured, and he got 6 bolts screwed in so as to hold his backbone.  After all, he was rendered paraplegic.

On one cold winter day in December 2012, the wheelchair of hope was delivered to Mr. Tohir’s home.  Have been bounded to bed without any assistive devise for several months, he was so glad that he now was able to move around by himself on this wheelchair.  He plans to start a month-long medical rehabilitation programme from January, so the wheelchair will be of great help to him in moving around in the rehabilitation centre.

Mr. Tohir has another hope:  his first son has turned 15th month-old.  With his beloved wife and son, we trust he will regain power to pursue new life in the near future.  We also believe that his fellow Disabled People who work closely with us will stand by him and empower him during the whole process.

Mr. Tohir
