Sun Leng Receives a Wheelchair

Sun Leng, 62 years old, lives with her husband and six children.  Sun Leng has had high blood pressure for six years.  One afternoon on returning from the rice field where the family works, she collapsed and was taken to the hospital.  After a two week stay she was released but has not been able to walk again. She has stayed at home scooting along the floor, and sometimes using a plastic chair.  Her neighbors would sometimes carry her or put her on a their bicycle to transport her to various places.  But most of the time she sat on her bamboo bed unable to go out. We heard she and her family are very happy to receive a wheelchair, allowing her to now help her family by preparing food and taking care of her grandchildren.  She also sits in the wheelchair in front of her house, and  attends church and other community events in the village.
