A Container of Wheelchairs Ships to Myanmar

Looking back on last year we are thankful to the many volunteers who worked to refurbish the 125 wheelchairs we were able to load into a container on December 5, bound for Myanmar.  The container shipped fromTokyo on the 12th and arrived in Yangon by the end of December.

The wheelchairs will be distributed to recipients by Myanmar’s National Blood Center,    an elderly support group, a pediatric hospital, two church organizations, and AAR Japan’s (Association for Aid and Relief -Japan) vocational training school.

We visited Yangon last year January and are grateful to FESCO (the Foundation for Encouragement of Social Contribution) for introducing us to Mr. Ikeya who lives in Yangon.  We are indebted him as well as to the Yangon church pastors and members, and AAR Japan for working together with us to make this possible.
