Pen Lyneang (age 42) received a wheelchair.
After being released by the Khmer Rouge in 1979, she and her family went into the jungle in search of food. Pen Lyneang was injured and needed to be hospitalized for nearly 3 months. Unfortunately her left foot from the knee down was paralyzed and she lost her right leg.
After she went home, she would lie on a small wooden chair waiting every day for her family to return home in the evening.
Since receiving the wheelchair, she is able to move around the house and also visit relatives and neighbors near her village. She is able to get to the small field near her house and no longer needs to wait for her family to bring her food and water.
