Myanmar delivery report from HelpAge; During the COVID-19 pandemic, one of our partner keeps working to help people in need.

125 wheelchairs were donated to our partners in Myanmar in  this January to February. 
Under the COVID-19 pandemic, people they are suffering very much, as their medical system and financial status are very weak.
We got report from HelpAge who arranged all logistic process to  DPDO( Disabled People’s Development Organization).
DPDO heled donation ceremony and handed 10 wheelchairs to desabled people aged 12 to 56 in Yangon and Magway region.

Wheel-chair Donation and Hand-Over Ceremony

 
  • HelpAge received information from the Wheelchairs of Hope Foundation in Japan in June 2019. After this, HelpAge coordinated partner organization namely Disabled Peoples’ Development Organization (DPDO)that worked for people with disabilities in Yangon and countryside. DPDO selected the 10 beneficiaries from Yangon and field area.
  • HelpAge arranged the all logistic process for collecting wheelchairs and HelpAge handover wheelchairs and tyre pumps provided by the Wheelchairs of Hope Foundation in Japan to the Disabled Peoples’ Development Organization (DPDO) on 24th February 2020. DPDO distributed them to those who need them most in Yangon and Magway regions.
  • The Donation/ Distribution Event was held in 7th March 2020 at the DPDO office, Hlaing Township, Yangon Region. Officials from the City’s Administrative office, Governors of township, Public Relation Office and District Ministry, and other invited guests and family members of direct beneficiaries were attended were attended at that event. Action Plan
  • DPDO take responsible for following up the beneficiaries and report to HelpAge in quarterly basis.
  • DPDO keep the information of beneficiaries and collect the progress information from each beneficiary.
