Just over one year ago we visited Yangon, Myanmar. We met Mr. Kyaw who had arranged meetings with potential partners throughout the city. He took a day off work to accompany us, acting as guide and advisor. Though Mr. Kyaw personally gained nothing, today, through those partnerships he helped establish, 125 people have a wheelchair. Unfortunately, an untimely accident took Mr. Kyaw, so he never saw the result of all his work.
Mr. Tani, the director of Wheelchairs of Hope, continued to collaborate with seven partners in Yangon. They now have received wheelchairs from the container which arrived earlier this month. Coordinating a container for seven partners is no small feat. Mr. Tani, like all the other volunteers at Wheelchairs of Hope, receive no renumeration for their hard work.
Wheelchairs of Hope salutes these two men and the many others whose work has made this world a better place.
Pictured here are Mr. Tani and Mr. Kyaw during the January 2017 visit.
